Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson) novel Chapter 1847

Mavis instinctively looked away, took a few quick bites, and stood up.

"I'm full. I'll head out now," she said to Trent.

Trent was puzzled by her sudden change in demeanor.

On the other hand, Nathaniel still stood not far away from them.

He had not eaten breakfast at home either.

After Mavis left, Mildred and Gabrielle turned their attention to him.

While Mavis was around, they had tried to spare her feelings. Once she left, Mildred did not hold back.

"Did you two sleep well last night?"

"It was okay."

"What do you mean 'okay'? Since Mae is now part of our family and you two have consummated your relationship, you should treat her well. If you don't care for her, why did you get together with her in the first place?"

Nathaniel could not hide his discomfort at Mildred's straightforwardness. Hence, he claimed he was full and left for the office.

He thought he could have a peaceful breakfast in the company cafeteria. Yet, as soon as he walked in, he saw Mavis and a stranger chatting intimately.

Nathaniel's face darkened, and he left the cafeteria without a word.

As they worked in the same company, Mavis and Nathaniel inevitably crossed paths, especially since Mavis had to report to him.

Mavis knocked on his door and entered, but seeing his face only stirred a mix of emotions within her.

She could only maintain her composure, placing the documents on his desk.

"Mr. Nicholls, the deal for the previous property has been finalized. Please sign here."

Nathaniel's eyes lingered on her face, noticing that she showed no particular emotion and was seemingly indifferent to last night's events.

He took a sip of his coffee, setting the cup back down.

Just as he was about to sign, he changed his mind.
