"Mr. Nicholls, I've checked everything. This USB drive contains the stolen core files and the dates match perfectly."
Kristen stood there, her face blank.
At this point, she knew she could no longer stay at Nicholls Group.
Nathaniel felt a chill in his heart, his expression growing colder.
"Since you did this, why did you frame Mavis?"
Kristen chortled. "Isn't it obvious? It was all because of you. Mavis is your wife. How could I compete with her? The only way to beat her was to destroy your opinion of her. It's her own fault for being stupid. Even when things got this bad, she still chose to fight you head-on. If I were her, I wouldn't have done that. Now you see, I'm just that shameless."
There was none of Kristen's usual gentle tone in her voice.
Nathaniel's eyes grew even colder.
"Resign voluntarily. However, I'll keep my promise. You saved my life, so you can stay in Svelton. Consider the apartment a thank-you for that."
From now on, he would not involve himself in her affairs.
Kristen's emotions were stirred.
She shook her head and said, "No, I don't want to stay. Just process it the usual way."
Nathaniel's blue eyes narrowed. "Are you sure?"
"I'm sure. I'm just a stand-in. Staying here won't get me anything."
"Alright, then leave. I'll handle the board. Just disappear quickly."
Kristen smiled. "Then let's part on good terms."
She turned and walked toward the door, but halfway there, tears started streaming down her face.
As Nathaniel lit a cigarette, he saw her suddenly rush back to him, clinging to his arm, quietly sobbing.
He did not move, his face emotionless.
Through her tears, Kristen whispered, "There's one more thing I must tell you. Be careful of the Nicholls Group's enemies."

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
