Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson) novel Chapter 1942

Mavis snapped back to reality and smiled at Sheena.

"Are you done with the call?"

"Yes, there's something I need to tell you."

Noticing Sheena's serious expression, Mavis tried to lighten the mood.

"Sheena, you're so scary when you're serious. Did something happen?"

Sheena knew that Mavis likely guessed it was about Nathaniel.

With so many things happening in the Nicholls family, Mavis had softened a bit toward Nathaniel.

After making sure Mavis was fine with the topic, Sheena explained, "Since you left, Nathaniel has been searching for you. He hasn't had a proper rest in ages, working tirelessly to distract himself from the fact that you're gone. Eventually, Madam Nicholls was so worried about his health that she insisted he take a vacation."

Mavis lowered her gaze, silently absorbing the news.

"He probably realizes his mistakes and regrets it, but I don't know how you feel about it. All I can do is share this with you."

Mavis felt conflicted.

In the past, she had desperately wanted Nathaniel's affection, initiating their relationship from the start.

After a year of unanswered longing and heartbreak, Nathaniel's regret felt too little, too late.

Mavis forced a bitter smile and shook her head.

"Let's not dwell on unhappy things. Recently, the ewes in the estate gave birth to a few adorable lambs. Would you like to see them?"

Sheena noticed Mavis was clearly avoiding the topic and reluctantly agreed.

The two of them headed to the sheep pen.

Mavis was deeply invested in caring for the ewes and their lambs, and she often spent her free time feeding them grass.

Over time, the ewes and the lambs grew accustomed to her presence, always coming over to nuzzle her affectionately.

Small animals had a way of healing the soul.

Sheena petted the lamb's head and could not help but smile. "So adorable! Have you given it a name? What's it called?"
