Outside, the crowd was shouting excitedly.

Kai quickly got out of bed and went outside to find out what was happening.

He returned two minutes later.

Kristen was already sitting at the head of the bed, waiting for him to explain.

"Mr. Tuttle has been gone for five days and has just returned. I heard he came back on a big ship and seems to have brought some important guests with him."

Leaving by small boat and returning by big ship was not normal.

Kai busily gathered Kristen's belongings.

"Jasmine is definitely not a good person. If she knew you, she might go back and inform Mr. Blackwell, who could come after you. Mr. Tuttle coming back with important guests might not be a good thing."

He continued packing while grumbling.

"I'll find a place for you to hide. Once they leave, I'll come back and get you."

The room was quiet except for the soft rustling of Kai's packing.

Suddenly, he heard a gun being loaded and something cold pressed against his back.

He paused, slowly turning around to see Kristen holding a gun and aiming it directly at him.

The room was dimly lit, and with her back to the doorway, her expression was hidden in the shadows.

However, Kai could clearly feel her dangerous aura.

He was stunned and asked, "Callie, why?"

She corrected him calmly, "Sorry, I'm not Callie. I'm Kristen Serrano."

Kai's heart sank. "Have you regained all your memories? When did this happen?"

"Just the night before Jasmine left, I went to see her alone. She threatened me, grabbed me by the throat, and slammed me against the wall, insulting me. That's when everything came back to me."

She laughed bitterly. "It's ironic, isn't it? A worthless orphan like me, who can't enjoy a good life, has to be bullied before regaining her memory."

Kai fell into deep thought, overwhelmed by her words.

The night before Jasmine left, he had gone to see Chas to arrange for Jasmine's departure the next day.

However, he had not noticed anything was amiss when he returned that night, as Kristen had already been asleep.
