Outside the delivery room, Ella was on the verge of tears.
She had called Nathaniel several times, but he had not answered.
With the thunder roaring and the rain pouring down, where could he possibly be?
Desperate, Ella decided to contact Sheena.
After a tense thirty seconds, Sheena answered the phone.
Ella's voice was trembling as she spoke, "Ms. Lawson, Mae is going into labor and is in a lot of pain. The doctor says she needs an epidural, but Nathaniel has to sign for it, and I can't reach him. What should I do?"
Sheena was instantly wide awake.
"Don't panic. First, request to stay with Mae and keep her calm. It's important to manage her anxiety so she can focus on the delivery. I'll be there as soon as I can."
"Okay, I'll do that."
After ending the call, Sheena quickly got out of bed and dressed in her coat.
Elliot, who had been light asleep and had heard the conversation, joined her.
He asked, "Mae is about to give birth, and Nathaniel is nowhere to be found?"
The mention of Nathaniel's absence made Sheena fume with frustration.
"Who knows what he's up to? He's always running away from responsibility. It's no wonder Mae wants a divorce."
If it were her partner who disappeared at such a crucial time, she would have no hesitation in kicking him to the curb.
Despite her frustration, Sheena quickly got dressed.
Elliot followed suit, dressing swiftly.
"I'll come with you. We'll stop by the Deltsburg police station to see if they can help locate Nathaniel."
"Sounds good."
Then, the couple headed out into the stormy night, rushing to the hospital despite the weather.
Inside the delivery room, the nurses sympathized with Mavis, who had no family present.

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
