"You always compare me to Asher. Should I compare you to Uncle Eli? Uncle Eli has such a high military rank, but Daddy doesn't. Why is that?"

"Uncle Eli manages a big company and a huge bureau, and he still finds time to be with Auntie Sheena. Daddy only manages a company, so why can't you spend more time with me every day?"

Callum wanted to say more, like how Asher's mother was around, and she was so pretty. Yet, he had never even seen his own mother.

He could not help but wonder if her mother left because of Nathaniel.

He replied, "If you want me to stop working and be with you daily, that's not impossible. I can finally check your math homework every day instead of once a week. If you really want it, I can be with you all the time starting tomorrow."

Callum quickly shook his head, immediately backpedaling.

Nathaniel's face remained stern.

"While I'm trying to discuss your homework seriously, you're joking around. You'll start elementary school next year. If you keep this up and don't take your homework seriously, you'll end up spoiled and rotten."

He counted the red circles on the book again before saying, "Eight mistakes means ten strikes. Roll up your left sleeve a bit higher."

Nathaniel picked up the small ruler from the desk, held it firmly, and proceeded to undo the buttons of his suit jacket and remove his watch.
