Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson) novel Chapter 2042

Callum fidgeted for a long time, eventually answering uncertainty, "Thirty-one?"

Nathaniel frowned. "Wrong."

With that, he delivered another firm swat to Callum's already sore bottom, holding the ruler against the little red cheeks.

"When you have addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division all together and no parentheses, you should do multiplication and division first, then addition and subtraction. Have you forgotten basic math? Have you been playing all week?"

Callum could find no excuse, only able to sob helplessly and occasionally gnaw on Nathaniel's leg.

He was simply too pitiful!

Nathaniel was not showing mercy to his bottom at all!

"Let's continue. Thirteen minus seven, plus nineteen, times two…"

Soon, the room was filled with the steady rhythm of sharp swats as Nathaniel's patience wore thin.

Callum received a few extra spankings due to his incorrect answers.

"It's not fair! Daddy, you're being mean! You're bullying me!" Callum protested as he cried in frustration. "You promised fifteen, and you've gone over!"

His bottom hurt so much!

"The questions were too hard, and I couldn't answer them. Don't you have any pity for me? If Grandma Mildred knew you were so mean, she'd stand up for me! Hmph!"

Callum tried to stop Nathaniel by mentioning Mildred.

Nathaniel set the ruler back on the desk.

"I'm the head of the Nicholls family, and even Grandma has to listen to me. Besides, it's my duty to teach my child. She can't help you."

Callum wailed loudly, "Being your son is the worst thing ever!"

He was crying so hard that his little nose was running, and he smeared his tears and snot all over Nathaniel's fancy trousers.

Nathaniel sighed again, still holding Callum's down firmly.

His tone was calm but firm as he said, "Callum, I could compare you to Asher, but when I was your age, I aced all my math tests and was the top student in my grade from the start. Back then, no one in the Nicholls family cared about me. I had nothing, not even a practice book. I had to borrow one from Uncle Romello, copy it by hand, and return it to him."

Callum gave in and mumbled between sniffles, "Yeah, yeah… You're great, and I'm just dumb."

Nathaniel responded gently but firmly, "I don't expect you to be a genius or think you're dumb. All I ask is that you take your studies seriously. If you approach your math problems with a proper attitude, I won't be harsh on you even if you make many mistakes. What upsets me is your lack of effort and your attempts to avoid taking responsibility."

Callum's blue eyes were brimming with tears as he continued to cry softly.
