Mildred said, "Back then, I was ill and couldn't protect him, and that's a lingering regret of mine."
Despite coming from a wealthy background, Mildred held no prejudice against illegitimate children. She believed that children were innocent and that children should not suffer the mistakes of adults.
"So, Callum, you need to be a good boy, listen to him more, and try not to upset him."
Callum pouted and ultimately gave in. "Fine. Even though Daddy is sometimes too strict, I won't blame him. From now on, when I get punished, I'll try not to get back at him."
Mildred could not help but chuckle.
She affectionately tapped his nose and said, "Don't be too naughty. If he scolds you, come to me, and I'll back you up. But you shouldn't take revenge on your own."
"Got it," Callum replied, snuggling up to Mildred. "Grandma Mildred, I don't want to practice piano this afternoon. I want to go out and play with Adora. Can you help me?"
Mildred hesitated briefly.
Even though Mildred was his elder and Nathaniel respected her, he was still the head of the family.
Hence, she could not go against him all the time, but a little compromise here and there should be fine.
"Well, going out isn't really safe, but if Adora is coming over, you two can play at home. I'll make an exception for today, and you don't have to practice piano."
"Yay! Thank you, Grandma Mildred!" Callum cheered.
In the afternoon, Adora and Sheena arrived at the Nicholls residence.
"Auntie Sheena, you're here too! Aren't you busy with work today?"
Sheena crouched, smiling as she ruffled Callum's hair.
"I took a break today to come and visit you with Adora."
"Auntie Sheena, you're the best!"
Although he was praising Sheena, Callum went to hug Adora instead.
Adora was already eleven, and she was much taller than Callum.
Dressed in a military green long-sleeved top and pants, with her high ponytail, she looked both mature and dependable for her age.
"Beanie, has Uncle Nate been giving you a hard time these days?"
"Yeah," Callum said, holding out his hand to Adora. "Daddy just punished me this morning. It hurt so much!"

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
