Callum hesitated just as he was about to knock on the door.
He had planned to confront Nathaniel about why he did not come to the kindergarten's parent-child event and why he was still spending time with Tiffany, even after promising to stay away from her.
However, he was not so sure he had the right to ask.
Nathaniel never actually promised to attend the event. That was just something Callum had assumed.
As for Tiffany, Nathaniel would probably just brush him off again, saying he was just a kid and should not ask about grown-up matters.
Callum eventually returned to his room, feeling blue.
Late that night.
Everyone in the Nicholls residence was asleep, and even the light in the study had gone dark.
However, someone's footsteps could be heard echoing faintly through the hallway.
Before heading to bed, Nathaniel carefully opened the door to Callum's room.
The little boy was sprawled out on his bed in a starfish position, and his mouth moved as if he was dreaming of something delicious.
Nathaniel's expression softened.
He tiptoed over to tuck Callum's blanket around him more snugly, muttering, "I should tie your hands and feet together. You move so much even when you're sleeping."
He did not want Callum to catch a cold, knowing how unbearable it would be for the little boy.
Nathaniel's hand gently brushed Callum's soft cheek, and just as he was about to leave, he heard Callum mumble.
"Mommy… Mommy…"
"Mommy, g-get Daddy back…"
"No… I don't want Ms. Sullivan…"
Nathaniel froze.
He slowly turned back and realized Callum was only talking in his sleep.
Nathaniel felt a pang of emotion, and he gently kissed Callum's forehead, whispering, "Don't worry, Callum. I'll always belong to Mommy and you."
…
Callum had a dream.

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
