Nathaniel and Callum stared at Mavis in shocked
"Mommy, what are you planning to do?" Callum asked.
Mavis smiled. "I heard that keeping a cast on for too long isn't good for the skin. It needs to be changed regularly."
Nathaniel eyed the chisel and hammer warily, saying, "The cast does need changing, but I'll go to the hospital for that. You don't need to do it yourself."
"I agree, but I recently learned about a home remedy that could speed up your recovery. So, I might as well remove the cast myself."
Callum, though young, knew that hammers and chisels could be dangerous. Plus, he knew his father was faking his injury.
"Mommy, you don't need to remove it. Daddy is—"
"Go ahead," Nathaniel interrupted, bracing himself. "I trust you won't hurt me."
"Of course not," Mavis replied, her eyes crinkling with excitement.
She positioned the chisel in the middle of the cast and brought the hammer down hard. Just like that, a crack appeared, and Nathaniel's knee twitched involuntarily.
Mavis feigned surprise. "Did that hurt? Your leg must be healing well."
Nathaniel shook his head and replied in a serious tone, "It doesn't hurt. The accident shattered the bone, so it'll take a long time to heal. I can't feel much. It's just muscle reflex."
"Oh, muscle reflex? Then we should definitely try my home remedy tonight."
As she continued hammering, Callum covered his eyes, too scared to watch.
What if the cast suddenly shattered and the chisel stabbed Nathaniel's leg?

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
