Dylan quieted down, shooting Nathaniel a cold glare before turning to leave.
Soon, only Evan and Nathaniel remained outside the Ascend Apartment.
Evan spoke first, "You know how difficult these past five years have been for Mae because of you. If you agreed to divorce, why keep playing tricks? You've hurt her deeply. Can't you just let her go?"
Nathaniel scoffed. "You're losing your accent. That's fast."
"I've been in Froania for over a month. I had to brush up on my language skills to communicate better," Evan explained, quickly refocusing. "Don't change the subject. We're talking about the divorce. What's the point of stubbornly clinging to Mae when she no longer loves you?"
Faced with Evan's accusations, Nathaniel had only one response and retorted, "How is our marriage any of your business?"
Evan faltered, his irritation evident. "I'm not strong enough to lift both you and the wheelchair. Figure it out yourself."
With that, he turned and headed inside, ignoring Nathaniel completely.
Nathaniel was not worried. Instead, he took out an expensive pack of cigarettes, lit one, and began to smoke leisurely.
A gentle breeze carried the smoke from his fingertips.
He sat in his wheelchair, not moving an inch. Even though his leg was bandaged, it did not affect his inherent air of elegance.
He smoked and waited for either Evan to come to his senses and help him or for Mavis to return and see how he was being treated.

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
