"No need. I canceled his tutoring for tomorrow," Nathaniel replied, "He's been wanting to go to the amusement park, so we'll take a day off and spend it with him."
"Should I… come along?" Mavis asked.
Nathaniel smirked. "Given how attached Callum is to you, do you think you could escape?"
Of course, escaping was not an option. Moreover, Mavis wanted to go to the amusement park with Callum as it was her wish too.
However, she had an important video conference for a project in the afternoon.
"I'd love to be with Callum, but… I have work tomorrow."
Nathaniel was puzzled. "Can't Evan handle it? He's in Vraeyce, which is more efficient than you joining remotely with the time difference."
His logic made sense, so Mavis immediately texted Evan about the change of plans.
Given the time in Vraeyce, she did not expect an immediate reply and put her phone down.
She cuddled Callum and told Nathaniel, "Goodnight."
"Mm," Nathaniel responded, setting his phone aside and turning off the bedside lamp.
Though they did not talk much, their dynamic felt natural and pleasant, like a long-married couple.
The next morning, Mavis checked her phone first thing but found that Evan had not replied to her message from the night before.
The sun rose earlier in Vraeyce than in Froania, so Evan should have been at work already. He usually responded instantly to her messages, but this time, there was nothing.
As Mavis was about to message Evan's sister to check on him, Callum burst into the bedroom, snuggling his head on her lap.
"Mommy, Daddy made breakfast! Come on, let's eat so we can go play!"
"Alright," Mavis said, letting the excited boy lead her to the dining area.

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
