Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson) novel Chapter 2240

As Nathaniel spoke, he began to unexpectedly remove his bandages. The freshly applied dressing came off with blood, his actions rough as if he felt no pain.

Mavis was baffled by his behavior. "What are you doing now?"

Ignoring her, he spotted a fruit basket with a knife on the bedside table. He grabbed the knife and forcefully placed it in Mavis's hand, then guided it to the wounded area over his heart.

"I've explained about Evan several times. If you still don't believe me, then go ahead."

Mavis was speechless at his madness and gritted out, "You're insane!"

He has multiple fractures and might be disabled for life. If you think I'm responsible, then take my life as compensation for him."

He closed his eyes, waiting.

Mavis stared at his handsome face, which bore an expression of fearlessness and resignation.

"You're impossible," she said, throwing the knife aside. As she turned to leave, she added, "To prevent your wound from getting infected again, I'll call the medical staff to redress it."

Nathaniel opened his eyes, watching her leave. She had not mentioned going to Evan, so perhaps she believed him now?

His furrowed brow relaxed as he leaned back, a slight smile on his lips.

However, five minutes later, only the male nurse from earlier entered.

Nathaniel looked toward the door and asked, "Where's my wife?"

The nurse looked confused. "Mrs. Nicholls only asked me to redress your wound, then she left. I don't know where she went."

Nathaniel knew she must have gone to Evan and that, deep down, she still did not trust him. He rubbed his chest and massaged his temples, sighing deeply.

The nurse sensed the tense atmosphere and worked quickly.

Soon after, Troy arrived.

The nurse had just finished rebandaging Nathaniel's wound and advised, "Remember to keep the wound dry, don't shower for a while, and change the dressing regularly."

Troy urged, "Let's go, Mr. Nicholls."
