When Petals Meet The Blade (Priscilla and Waldo) novel Chapter 306

Chapter 306

Yuna said calmly, I did teach Priscilla how to charm Your Highness, but it wasn’t any of that socalled training program. 1 did it out al pity inte

At this point, it struck Hughie that when Priscilla wasn’t being willful, her haughty demeanor bore an uncanny resemblance to Yuna standing before him.

Your Highness, why not consider this from another perspective? Perhaps those people saw how Priscilla managed to charm you and tried to copy her moves, but they didn’t realize Prince Leon’s tastes are so different from yours. What worked like magic on you left him completely cold!

Blood was still streaming from Yuna’s shoulder, yet she stood straight, her expression calm and composed, not arrogance, but quiet indifference. It was more like disdain.

That look of disdain made Hughie so furious he could barely contain himself. He wanted nothing more than to tear Yuna apart. Yet, deep down, he couldn’t shake the feeling that maybe she had a point.

Hughie thought, Could t have misunderstood Priscilla all along?

Yuna stared at Waldo. There’s something else I bet you don know, Your Highness. She paused, her tone cold. After that autumn hunt, I disappeared. Do you know why?

Why?Hughie blurted out before he could stop himself.

Yuna let out a cold laugh. Because I saw with my own eyes how Jessica just stood by and let Your Highness die. When I tried to save you, I nearly got mauled to death by that black wolf!

Don’t believe me, Your Highness? Then see for yourself! With a sudden, violent motion, Yuna tore open the front of her robe.

Hughie and the two guards immediately averted their gaze, not daring to look.

Yuna’s shoulder was exposed. It showed the fresh wound from the shattered cup. But there was another scar, perilously close to her neck. It was a mark of wolf claws. It seemed deep and almost fatal.

You!Hughie’s voice trailed off, his eyes fixed on her wound.

Yuna said, I did try to save you, Your Highness. But I was caught off guard and mauled by the black wolf. I couldn’t fight anymore. As for why I risked my life, I saw it with my own eyes. That beast clamped its jaws around your leg and tore through your tendons like they were nothing.

Those words sent a sharp pain shooting through Waldo’s leg. The memory of being bitten flashed before his eyes. His leg throbbed with agony so intense it felt like his soul was being torn apart.

Waldo thought, All I could think about was Jessica. Even if it hurt like hell, I had to hold on. I just wanted to save her.”

Yuna looked at him and said quietly, But Your Highness, you have no idea what I witnessed that day, do you?

Yuna slowly adjusted her robe, her gaze devoid of any mockery. As she looked at Hughie, what remained in her eyes was nothing but pity and sympathy.

What exactly did you see?Waldo asked, his heart inexplicably clenching tighter and tighter, as if an invisible hand were squeezing life out of him. He felt a twinge of pain and found it hard to breathe.

Waldo thought, Something’s not rightNo, this feels wrong. I saw Jessica standing on a treetop not far away!

Your Highness, I saw Jessica standing on a treetop not far away. She watched coldly as the black wolf bit your leg and dragged you away. It was not until the black wolf bit your hamstrings that she slowly came down from the tree. Is that what you call saving you, Your Majesty?

You’re lying!Waldo roared, his voice raw with fury. No way! I refuse to believe it!He thought desperately. No matter what

Jessica would never do this to me. I’d rather die than believe it!
