Goodbye, My Love novel Chapter 13

Jordan's bodyguard darted toward Holly and clamped a hand over her mouth.

Meanwhile, Ansel kept crying and asking for Sabrina after waking up, feeling frightened. Jordan's heart ached when he saw Ansel like that. He pulled the latter into his arms and said, "Be good, okay? I'll take you to see your mother when you're better."

Ansel didn't seem to hear him. He could only think about the things the other children and Holly had said. He also thought about the photos on the billboards. "Does Mom not want us anymore because we went to see Holly without her knowing, Dad?"

He didn't know what an affair was. All he knew was that Jordan would frequently take him to see Holly behind Sabrina's back. He would also beg Jordan to take him to Holly when he wanted to eat snacks that Sabrina wouldn't give him or play with toys Sabrina wouldn't buy for him.

Jordan felt like someone was tightening their fist around his heart when he saw how depressed Ansel was. The pain made him feel like he was suffocating. If not for his moment of rashness, Ansel wouldn't have ended up like this.

He parted his lips, but the words didn't come. Instead, he caressed Ansel's head before saying bitterly, "Yes, she left us because we did something wrong. That's why we have to find her and apologize to her."

Where were they going to start looking, though?

Between October and December, the Faust family dispatched countless men to search the world for Sabrina. However, no one returned with news of her.

This changed when Jordan's assistant, Mason Lodge, called him one day. "We've found Mrs. Faust, sir."

Jordan and Ansel didn't hear the rest of his sentence. They immediately left for the address he sent them. They were stunned when they arrived at the crematorium.

Jordan's expression darkened as he grabbed Mason by the collar. "What the fuck are you playing at? Why would Sabrina be at a crematorium?"

Mason looked sorrowed as he handed Jordan a stack of documents. "Take a look at this, sir."

Jordan took them. He staggered backward and collapsed onto the seat behind him when he saw the terminal illness diagnosis and proof of cremation.

What had he just read? The report indicated that Sabrina had been diagnosed with a terminal illness ages ago. That was why she'd come to the crematorium half a month ago to book a cremation for herself.

Half a month ago… Wasn't that the day he'd accompanied Holly there?
