Chapter 183
Even the usually composed Larson was shocked to the core when he saw the message. His pupils constricted as he gripped his phone, vein wi the back of his hand.
Rose loved hitting the bars. Decked out in designer labels and blessed with striking looks, she attracted plenty of people with ulterior motives, and eventually, she fell right into their trap.
By chance, Larson ran into Rose, who was drugged out of her mind, clinging to him and rubbing herself against him. Disgusted, he handed her over to his secretary with orders to find her a man.
Afterward, Larson never bothered to find out who the man was. To his shock, Rose ended up pregnant, and worse, it was leaked that the child was rumored to be Larson’s.
Larson’s expression shifted unpredictably.
“Mr. Moore, the car is here,” the secretary announced, stepping inside after noticing Larson hadn’t come out.
Larson lowered his gaze. After a few steadying breaths, he collected himself, regained his composure, and then stepped outside.
Once in the car, Larson settled into the backseat, staring at the back of man you found for Rose?”
$ secretary’s head. In a low, commanding voice, he demanded, “Who was the
Caught off guard by the sudden question, the secretary’s hands tightened on the steering wheel, and he nearly swerved off the road.
Trying to sound casual but clearly uneasy, he replied, “Just picked up some random drunk off the street. Why do you ask, Mr. Moore?” Larson closed his eyes, rubbed his temples, and let out a wry, self–mocking smile. “It’s nothing. I just find it rather absurd that people are claiming Rose is carrying my child.”
The secretary was once Larson’s junior at the university. When Larson returned to his alma mater to give a speech, he established a scholarship program to support students from financially struggling families. His secretary was one of the recipients.
In Larson’s eyes, the secretary was a grateful man. He joined the company right after graduation and worked diligently for two years. Had it not been for a chance encounter, Larson wouldn’t have even known this man worked for him.
The guy worked his way up to secretary through sheer hard work, and Larson had never once doubted him.
Seeing that Larson didn’t look well, the secretary hesitated before asking, “Mr. Moore, you don’t look well. Did Ms. Chandler say something to upset you?”
Noticing his secretary’s subtle attempt to pry for information, Larson gave a faint smile. “She knows I’ve been hiding Rose.”
The secretary, startled, asked, “So, Mr. Moore, what do you plan to do about the baby?”
Larson kept his eyes closed, fingers pressed to his temples. “Any good suggestions? Be straight with me.”
The secretary hesitated, clearly torn. “Actually, I think Ms. Moore and the child are both innocent. They-”
Larson had heard enough and cut him off. “You’re fight. They’re both innocent. That’s why I’ve decided to let her have the baby.”
The secretary visibly relaxed, a faint smile unconsciously spreading across his face, just as Larson opened his eyes and caught sight of it.
As soon as Sophia got out of the car, her phone rang. Seeing Larson’s name on the screen, she answered with a cheerful smile, “Hey, Larson.”
Sophia’s voice was bright and cheerful, brimming with unmistakable delight, a stark contrast to Larson’s current state of mind.

Making this call showed Larson had made up his mind. He got straight to the paint. “Ms. Chandler, you can inherit his estate, but only in ande
exact revenge
Sophia flashed a brilliant smile and replied, “Absolutely.”
Larson reiterated coldly. “I won’t just disgrace Elias and see him punished as he deserves- I will wipe out the entira Moore family Elias was the patoares of the Moore family.
Sophia still wore a bright, relaxed smile and said, “That’s easy. Just throw him in jail.” That was all it took–problem solvad.
Larson fell silent for a few seconds. Sophia could hear his breathing grow slightly ragged before he asked, his voice low and tense. “Are you serious about this?”
Sophia said, “Of course. Trust me. This is about inheriting your estate. Would I joke about something this serious?”
Larson seemed to exhale in relief before bursting into laughter. “Ms. Chandler, thank you,” he said his words sincere and marked by a rare solemnity.
For years, Larson had been gathering evidence against Elias. But the man was naturally cautious–even after adopting Larson, Elias never let his guard down, leaving Larson with no chance to strike.
With death closing in, Larson couldn’t accept that his nemesis was still always trusted.
Sophia chuckled and said, “Larson, you’re truly a stand–up guy. No need to thank me. I’ll settle your revenge, you leave your estate to me, and we’ll call it
even.”
Larson nodded. “Deal.”
“Then I’ll have my lawyer contact you,” Sophia said, hanging up with a triumphant smile. She felt absolutely fantastic.
In the original storyline, Rose’s biological brother, Zick Moore, inherited the Moore family fortune, and he was also one of Yvette’s many admirers.
As Sophia headed back to her dorm, she passed Room 605 and noticed Vivienne in high spirits, trying on outfits and happily asking her roommates how
she looked.
Sophia barely spared a glance before heading back to her own dorm.
As soon as she sat down, Charlotte texted her. [Do you have class tomorrow?]
Of course, she had class, but Sophia replied, [It’s Tuesday tomorrow, Charlotte. Are you going to your classmate’s wedding?]
Melody and Griffin, the high school classmates Charlotte ran into last week, were getting married tomorrow.
Charlotte: [Yeah, I remember you showed interest in the Hartwick and Dawson families before. If you’re free, would you like to come with me?]
Sophia had no idea why Charlotte suddenly decided to attend the wedding, but it didn’t matter. She replied: [Sure.]
After replying to Charlotte, Sophia immediately texted James, instructing him to contact Larson.
James: [What?]
Sophia: [What’s up, Mr. Evans?]
