A little over ten minutes later, several black vans stopped at an abandoned factory on the outskirts.
Sheena was carried by the guards and placed inside one of the dilapidated buildings on the factory premises.
The air was thick with dust, and Sheena lay on the ground on her side.
As the guards left, one of them noticed a slight movement of Sheena's face, which had previously been pressed against the earth.
He turned back to take a closer look, but it seemed like a trick of the light.
Leaving the building, he closed and locked the door, leaving four guards to stand watch.
Meanwhile, Anne and Paulo were talking in the open space of the old factory.
Paulo pulled a long face.
As he could never bring himself to confront Anne, he complained in a soft tone, "Why did you have to kidnap her? Are you planning to kill her? She's the wealthiest woman in Froania, and her husband is Elliot. If anything goes wrong, I might be able to escape, but I can't guarantee your safety."
Paulo was actually against the idea of kidnapping Sheena, but he could not express his objections over the phone. Hence, he had to follow Anne's wishes for now.
Despite his questioning tone, he was gentle.
As if she were intimidated, Anne teared up, appearing pitiful and vulnerable.
"Oh, my darling, why are you crying? I'm not scolding you. I'm just worried about your safety."
Anne's tears stirred Paulo's heart, and he quickly pulled her into his embrace, soothing her with sweet words.
Anne sniffled softly, explaining with a choked voice, "You have no idea how Sheena has been mistreating me these days. I came to Froania to confront her because she stole our collaboration, yet she delayed meeting me and left me hanging for days. And, look!"

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
