Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson) novel Chapter 1395

Even though Gracie guessed everything wrong, Mavis was still deeply moved.

Not long ago, they had a big argument because Mavis refused to attend the blind dates her family set up for her in Harbor City.

She never expected Nathaniel to abduct Gracie to threaten them regarding the marriage.

Mavis felt guilty about it.

"No, none of that. I really like him. I signed the prenuptial agreement willingly. Even if it's only a one-year marriage, I think it's worth it."

Gracie sighed heavily.

Khalid quickly grabbed the phone, continuing with questions, "Who is this guy? What's his name? What's his family background? What does he do for a living? Does he have a car?"

"His name is Nathaniel Nicholls. He used to teach in Harbor City, and you both have met him before."

There was another round of chaotic murmurs on the other end of the phone.

It seemed like Mavis's brother, Dylan, was asking something.

Khalid listened to Dylan's input and asked, "Is he the Nathaniel Nicholls, the CEO of the Nicholls Group in Svelton?"

"Yes."

The entire family was relieved, believing Mavis had found herself a wealthy and handsome husband.

Khalid's tone softened considerably as he added, "If you're marrying someone like that, he must be willing to give you a good sum when you divorce, right?"

"I didn't ask for anything."

Those simple words expressed Mavis's determination.

Khalid became emotional once again and shouted, "You didn't ask for anything? How could you not? The whole family is counting on you to send money back to support us.

"You signed an unfair prenuptial agreement. If you don't get some money out of this, you'll end up with nothing! The entire year of marriage would be a waste! Why are you so foolish?"

"Stop scolding her. Mavis must have her own reasons. She's very clear-headed, and she must know what she's doing."

It was Gracie's voice.

"She doesn't know squat! She flew all the way from Harbor City to Froania just to chase after this guy and spent five years there. Yet, what did she get in return? A one-year marriage arrangement without any financial compensation after the divorce! Does she think she's doing charity work? What's the use of that?"

Dylan chimed in, "Exactly, Mavis. You should at least get something out of it. The Nicholls family is loaded, and they could easily give us 150,000 dollars. That's enough for our whole family to live on for half a lifetime. Who knows, maybe the money will even be enough for me to build a house and find a wife…"

"Enough, you two. Stop pressuring Mavis."
