After half an hour, Mavis was done washing her face, applying her face mask, and completing her skincare routine.
When she emerged from the bathroom, she noticed Nathaniel lounging lazily on the couch.
Nathaniel had taken over the cozy spot she had just prepared, holding a thick book.
Not only that, but he was even wearing a pair of glasses.
Mavis froze.
Despite knowing Nathaniel for so long, it was the first time she had seen him wearing glasses.
He looked aloof and unapproachable, like a refined scholar with no regard for anyone.
Every inch of him was attractive; he was the kind of man who could pull off any look effortlessly, blessed with natural charm.
Shaking off her wandering thoughts about Nathaniel's appearance, Mavis approached slowly and meekly said, "Um… this is where I sleep…"
Nathaniel elegantly turned a page in his book, not bothering to look up at her.
His tone was calm as he replied, "It looks quite cozy. I feel like sleeping here tonight. You can sleep in the bed."
"Uh…" Mavis was baffled. "Is that really okay?"
Nathaniel raised an eyebrow. "Why not? I may not be a gentleman, but when I act like one… Well, you better get me checked."
Mavis could not help but chuckle at his playful banter. Somehow, he managed to turn such a simple act of consideration into a sarcastic remark about himself.
"Go ahead and sleep in the bed. You're blocking my light," Nathaniel said as he shifted to lie on his side.
"Alright, you should rest early. This couch is a bit small, and if you're uncomfortable sleeping here later, just let me know, and we can switch back anytime," Mavis suggested.
"Okay," he casually replied.
Mavis hesitated, taking a few more glances at Nathaniel's relaxed posture while reading.
She thoughtfully reminded, "You've been busy all day. You should rest early. And if you insist on reading, sit up straight. It's bad for your eyes, especially since you're wearing glasses."

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
