Nathaniel hung his head in defeat, having no words in response to Asher's accusations.
"I'm sorry…"
A flood of emotions surged within him, but those words were all he could manage.
Asher scoffed. "If apologies fixed everything, we wouldn't need the law, would we?"
Standing by the hospital bed, Nathaniel felt a lump in his throat, and his eyes reddened.
Noticing his expression, Asher pouted.
"Actually, I'm not that petty. It's been a long time, and you didn't mean to harm me. I just want you to know that you must be willing to spend money on me and do everything to make me happy."
His voice was childish yet commanding.
Nathaniel nodded firmly and glanced at the aquarium renovation plan in his hand, not feeling annoyed or angry.
"Asher, you're right. If making you happy means spending everything I have, it's worth it. I'll make sure your aquarium plan is completed."
Asher waved dismissively and said, "Go back to your work. Stop bothering me."
"Alright, get some rest."
Nathaniel composed himself, taking the plan and turning to leave.
As soon as he stepped out of the ward, he ran into Elliot, who was returning with durian.
Elliot noticed his red eyes from a distance and teased, "Why do you look like you're about to cry? Did Asher make you cry? Can't even handle a five-year-old? When did you become so sensitive?"
Nathaniel did not explain.
He carefully folded the plan and placed it inside his suit jacket.
"If there's nothing else, I'll get back to cleaning the restrooms."
Elliot nodded, looking indifferent.
Nathaniel walked past him but heard Elliot say, "Now that you're in a relationship, you need to be serious. Don't disappoint her."
Nathaniel turned abruptly and asked, "What do you mean?"

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
