Mavis could not understand Nathaniel's mood swings.
From what he said, it seemed like he planned to sleep in the study again, avoiding the bedroom.
For the next few days, Nathaniel used work as an excuse to sleep in the study, never returning to their bedroom.
Even the staff at the Nicholls residence noticed that the couple seemed to be sleeping apart, likely due to a quarrel.
The Nicholls residence also arranged for a driver to take Mavis to work.
For several days, she barely saw Nathaniel.
Other than seeing him at the dining table, she had no idea where he spent his time.
The silent treatment lasted for an entire week.
Gabrielle could not stand it anymore and confronted Nathaniel directly during dinner.
"Nate, what exactly did Mae do wrong for you to treat her like this?"
Nathaniel was caught off guard, but he quickly resumed eating, maintaining his composure.
"Nothing," he replied, his tone flat.
"Nate, stop pretending. Everyone in the Nicholls residence knows you and Mae fought. You've only been married a short while, and you're already sleeping in the study, leaving her alone. Isn't that too much?" Gabrielle demanded.
When Marius heard that, he also chimed in, "Nate, you're in the wrong here. A man should be generous and forgiving. Mae left her home country to marry you. You can't be so petty. If there was a fight, you should apologize first."
The siblings ganged up on him, siding with Mavis.
Nathaniel's face darkened.
He was obviously unhappy, but he continued eating in silence.
Mavis felt deeply touched.
Despite their prestigious background, Marius and Gabrielle still stood up for her.

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
