Sheena frowned, appearing annoyed.
"You're seriously not leaving? Mrs. Snyder doesn't have enough room for you, and your children at home need you, too. If you love me and the kids as much as you say, why would you leave them behind? How can I believe you when you act like this?"
Elliot gulped.
"The kids are doing fine. Asher has been taking care of Adora and lulling her to sleep, and they don't need me there. Besides, Yosef is with them. They'll be okay."
His meaning was clear: he was staying, no matter what.
Nancy sensed the rising tension.
She patted Sheena's hand, trying to ease the situation with a smile.
"Alright, Mr. Jenkins, if you're willing to put up with my humble home, I'm honored. I'll get some clean blankets for you."
With that, she went inside, leaving Elliot and Sheena alone in the yard.
Sheena did not want to stretch the conversation and brought up something she had asked Nathaniel earlier.
"Talking doesn't prove anything, and I don't believe you. Just answer this: do you have our marriage certificate?"
Elliot looked up and replied confidently, "Yes."
Sheena held out her hand with a stern expression. "Show it."
Elliot instinctively reached into his pocket, eager to present the evidence.
However, his face froze when he realized the situation.
"The marriage certificate is at home… I didn't bring it with me…"
Sheena's tone was indifferent as she replied, "Then stop claiming to be my husband. Until I see the certificate, I won't believe you. Come back when you have proof."
With that, she stood up to leave.
Elliot grabbed her wrist, looking at her with earnest eyes.
"I'll get someone to bring it right now. If you see our marriage certificate, will you believe me then?"
Sheena's expression hardened as she pulled her hand away.
"It's too late. We'll talk about it tomorrow."
She immediately turned and entered the simple house, leaving Elliot half-squatting in the yard, staring after her in a daze.

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
