How could a fall lead to a bruise on the mouth?
What kind of awkward landing would that take?
Everyone at the table silently picked up their utensils and started eating, not addressing the obvious.
After dinner, Sheena helped Nancy with the dishes.
The three men, saying they needed to discuss something, took a lantern and headed outside.
On the rural path, the atmosphere was thick with tension.
They walked in silence until the house was out of sight.
Elliot, who was leading, stopped abruptly, turning sharply to glare at Nathaniel.
Nathaniel stood as relaxed as ever with his hands in his pockets.
Just seeing his face enraged Elliot.
With a dark expression, Elliot called out, "Lionel."
Lionel understood immediately.
He grabbed Nathaniel by the collar, ready to punch him in the face.
Nathaniel glanced at Lionel and warned, "Not the face. It's too noticeable."
Lionel hesitated for a moment before changing his target, landing a series of heavy blows to Nathaniel's stomach.
Each punch was more brutal than the last.
Nathaniel did not fight back, enduring the pain in silence.
When he finally tasted blood in his throat, he turned his head and spat it onto the ground.
Lionel let go of Nathaniel's collar and gave him a resentful shove.
Nathaniel staggered back, hitting a tree trunk.
He leaned against it, coughing violently, blood staining his lips as his face grew paler.
Elliot looked at Nathaniel's pitiful state, feeling a bit more satisfied.
"Pretending to be her husband? If she had believed you, would you have disappeared?"
Nathaniel wiped the blood from his mouth and gave a devilish smile, despite his obvious pain.
"I was just playing around. Who knew she'd still be so sharp even with amnesia?"
Elliot's jaw tightened, and he growled, "You're despicable."
Lionel moved forward again, pinning Nathaniel against the tree and delivering more brutal punches to his abdomen.
Even though it was unbearably painful, Nathaniel did not cry out, showing remarkable resilience.
Elliot coldly asked, "Why didn't you hide?"
"Two big shots from the National Investigation Bureau want to beat me up. Can I even hide?"

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
