Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson) novel Chapter 1556

Nancy had given up her room for Nathaniel during his stay, and she shared a room with Sheena.

Hence, his room was the one further inside.

Nancy came out holding a washbasin and immediately noticed Nathaniel's state.

When Nathaniel tried to adjust his posture, it was too late. Nancy had already seen him.

"What happened? You were only out for a moment. Why do you look so worn out?"

The two men in the living room, who were making do with makeshift beds, were engrossed in their phones, acting unconcerned.

Nathaniel managed a faint smile and replied, "It's nothing, really. I think I just caught a bit of a chill, and I'm feeling a little dizzy."

"Do you have a cold?" Nancy asked, worried. "I have some medicine in my room. I can get it for you."

"No need. I'm strong, and I'll be fine by morning."

"Really?" Nancy eyed him up and down, still concerned. "Are you sure it's just dizziness? You keep holding your back."

Nathaniel chuckled. "Just an old back muscle strain. It's nothing serious. It'll be fine in a couple of days."

From his spot on the floor, Lionel could not hold back a laugh and clicked his tongue.

"Mr. Nicholls, you're only in your thirties and already having back issues? That's not good. You need to work out more and take better care of yourself, or your future wife might complain."

Nathaniel's expression turned cold as he grunted in acknowledgment.

He straightened up and walked to his room with a normal gait, shutting the door behind him with a thud.

The flimsy door shook from the impact.

Nancy sensed his anger and stood there awkwardly.

Lionel tried reassuring her, saying, "Mrs. Snyder, don't worry about him. He's stubborn and has a bad temper. He won't admit he's not feeling well. You should get some sleep. It's late."

"Alright, then. You two should get some rest as well. Let me know if the makeshift beds are uncomfortable, and I'll figure something out."

Lionel smiled and nodded.

"Don't worry about us, Mrs. Snyder. We can sleep on anything. The makeshift bed is just fine."

"Well, alright then. Goodnight."

Nancy retreated to her room and closed the door behind her.

The house was simple and not soundproof.

Elliot sat against the wall, his ears keenly picking up the conversation between Nancy and Sheena in the next room.

"Nana, Mr. Jenkins seemed even more emotional than Mr. Nicholls. The way he looked at you was heart-wrenching. Maybe what he said is true."

Elliot listened intently, eager to hear Sheena's response.

After a brief pause, Sheena's soft voice came through.

"None of them are trustworthy. They're too good of an actor. Don't dwell on it, Mrs. Snyder. I'm really tired. Let's sleep."

The light in the room went out, and the shadows from the door frame disappeared entirely, leaving Elliot in darkness.
