After taking a shower at the National Investigation Bureau, Elliot returned to his car and changed out of his clothes, coming up with an excuse for it.
If Sheena asked, he would say that he got into a heated argument with Keaton, which ended up dirtying his coat, and he had no choice but to change.
The thought of going home to hold his sweet and comforting wife made all the previous stress melt away.
The clock on the wall showed it was already 2 a.m., and only the children's gentle snoring could be heard in the quiet ward.
Sheena sat on the edge of the bed, checking her phone constantly with worry etched on her face.
She wondered why Elliot had not returned yet.
Was Keaton's case really that difficult?
Or had Keaton pulled another stunt?
Sheena hesitated and eventually put down the phone, deciding against calling Elliot in case it interfered with his work.
Tossing and turning on the bed, she eventually got up to get some fresh air.
As she opened the door, she saw Elliot.
With a smile on his face, he asked, "Honey, where are you going?"
Sheena gave him a once-over and noticed his change of clothes.
She asked suspiciously, "What were you up to?"
Elliot repeated his pre-planned excuse.
Satisfied, Sheena led him into the ward, where they squeezed together on the small bed.
The next morning, Adora jumped between them, resting her little face on her hands and batting her big eyes.
Sheena opened her eyes drowsily and pulled Adora into her arms.
Feeling the presence of their little girl, Elliot opened his eyes.
"Adora."
Hearing the discontent in his voice, Adora pouted and clung to Sheena's neck, complaining, "Mommy, Daddy is being mean to me. You need to train him better."
Amused, Sheena got up, carrying Adora over to Asher's bed.
Sheena and the kids snuggled under one blanket, leaving Elliot on his own.

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
