Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson) novel Chapter 1602

Elliot's phone vibrated. It was Lionel calling.

Not wanting to wake the children, he quietly stepped outside.

"What's the news?" Elliot asked, knowing Lionel would not call without an update on Keaton's case.

He already expected the outcome: for such heinous crimes, Keaton would undoubtedly face the death penalty.

"Elliot, it's the death penalty. Once the court confirms it, the execution will take place within a week. Keaton will finally face his punishment," Lionel reported.

After a moment of silence, Elliot asked, "Does he have any last wishes?"

Despite everything, Keaton had once been his closest friend, and he would not have ended up like this if not for taking the wrong path.

Lionel responded, "He wants to see you one last time… and even have a drink with you."

"Got it."

Elliot hung up and returned to the room, whispering a few words to Sheena before grabbing his coat and heading out.

He had things he needed to say to Keaton, too.

Driving to the National Investigation Bureau, Elliot picked up two bottles of expensive liquor and had the cafeteria prepare some proper food.

This would be their last meal together after many years.

As he arrived, the staff greeted him, "Good evening, Mr. Jenkins."

"Mm," Elliot replied.

Keaton was a high-security prisoner.

Hence, he was kept in a cell under constant surveillance.

Elliot took the private elevator to where Keaton was held and found him sitting in a corner, looking defeated and worn.

His shirt was filthy, stained with mud and blood from that fateful day.

A bandage wrapped around his left leg marked the bullet wound Elliot had inflicted.

Keaton heard Elliot approach and slowly lifted his head.

His eyes were dull, his voice hoarse, and his lips were cracked and pale.
