Mavis froze, staring at the aromatherapy sets.
Did he really prepare all this because he liked the scent, or was there another reason?
As she pondered this, the office door opened.
Tommy walked in with a stack of files and stopped in his tracks when he saw her.
"M-Mrs. Nicholls, what brings you back so suddenly?"
Mavis placed the aromatherapy set back in its place.
"I finished my work over there, so I returned. I just arrived today. Where's Mr. Nicholls?"
Tommy set down the files and nodded. "I haven't had any contact with Mr. Nicholls for two days. You know how he is. I wouldn't dare ask too many questions."
Nathaniel's unpredictable moods were notorious, and Tommy had no desire to become his next target.
Mavis did not doubt Tommy's words.
After all, Nathaniel's volatile nature meant his temper could flare without warning.
"I just came to check. Have you been handling everything here when I was away?"
Tommy shrugged with a touch of exasperation.
"Yes, Mr. Nicholls left in a hurry and didn't leave many instructions, so I had to manage."
Mavis chuckled.
Those tasks were usually hers to handle.
With her gone, the burden naturally fell on Tommy.
"I'll be back at work tomorrow, so just hold on for one more day," she said before leaving the office.
The Nicholls family driver was still waiting downstairs, and she did not want to keep him waiting any longer.

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
