Gabrielle rambled on, and Mavis quickly guided her to sit down.
"Since when did you become a workaholic? I just returned from abroad. If I have to work before until the end of the day, wouldn't the Nicholls Group be taking advantage of a loyal employee?" Mavis joked.
Gabrielle could tell Mavis was in good spirits and immediately felt relaxed.
She asked, "I heard from Tommy that Nate went to Gurenchti to find you. Why didn't you come back together?"
Mavis felt a bit awkward but hid it well.
"He didn't come back with me. Nate is the CEO of the entire company, and I'm just an assistant. Naturally, he's much busier than I am."
In reality, she had no idea where Nathaniel was at the moment, let alone returning with him.
Seeing no signs of distress on Mavis's face, Gabrielle was relieved and started asking about Gurenchti, eager to learn more before her upcoming studies abroad.
Mavis patiently answered each of Gabrielle's questions.
As evening fell, Marius returned home. He was surprised to see Mavis and Gabrielle at the dining table but did not comment.
During dinner, Gabrielle shared amusing and interesting stories, making Mavis laugh heartily and lifting her spirits.
Initially, Mavis had worried that her long absence would make it difficult to blend in with them, but she realized she was wrong.
Gabrielle and Marius had fully accepted her as family, and there was no awkwardness.
After dinner, Gabrielle insisted they take a bath and get massages together.
The Nicholls family had dedicated massage therapists, and the session left Mavis feeling completely relaxed.
Returning to her bedroom after a long time, Mavis saw the neatly made bed and was flooded with memories.
Exhausted from the day's activities, she decided to grab a blanket and sleep on the couch.
Soon, she drifted off, though her dreams were chaotic and her sleep restless.
…
Around 2 a.m., the bedroom door creaked open, and a tall figure entered.
Exhausted, the man collapsed onto the bed, but his attention was drawn to the faint silhouette curled up on the couch.

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
