Mavis braced herself, waiting for Tommy to continue.
"Mrs. Nicholls, I'm begging you, can you please make peace with Mr. Nicholls? The entire company is on edge, and Mr. Nicholls has turned into a work machine. Not everyone can handle the pressure like he does. When people are under extreme stress, they're more likely to make mistakes. It's a vicious cycle. If the company remains this stressful, everyone will eventually break down."
Mavis was taken aback by these words.
Nathaniel's intense work ethic and the pressure on the Nicholls Group employees could not possibly be her fault, could it?
Could she really influence Nathaniel's actions?
She found it hard to believe.
While they were indeed giving each other the silent treatment, it seemed unlikely that it would lead Nathaniel to lose his sanity and torment his staff.
Thinking it through, Mavis responded calmly, "Tommy, I'm sorry, but I can't help you with this. What he does is his business. I'm recovering and can't return to work right now. I need some peace and quiet."
Tommy looked even more anxious but realized he could not persuade her.
"Mrs. Nicholls, I've delivered the message. It's up to you how you want to handle it. I hope you'll consider the well-being of the company employees. After all, you and Mr. Nicholls are married. There can't be such a big grudge between you."
With a sigh, Tommy left the room, and Mavis was left in deep thought.
She took out her phone and scrolled through her chat history with Nathaniel, only to find the chat window was blank.
How was she supposed to start a conversation?
Was she supposed to be straightforward and say she wanted to reconcile?
She could not bring herself to do it and did not want to be the one to make the first move.
After all, their fight was not solely her fault.
The girl named Kristen had become a thorn in her side, and if Nathaniel did not clarify things, this issue would never be resolved.
Mavis picked up her phone and put it down, repeating the actions several times.
When she finally typed a message in the chat window, she deleted it and set the phone aside without sending anything.

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
