Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson) novel Chapter 1790

After hanging up the phone, Sheena looked at Mavis apologetically.

"Mae, I'm really sorry, but there's something at work that requires my immediate attention. I won't be able to join you for the celebration."

Mavis shook her head and smiled.

"It's okay, Sheena. Work is important. I'll take care of the kids."

Before getting out of the car, Sheena turned to the children and instructed, "You two make sure to listen to Auntie Mae and Auntie Gabrielle. Daddy and I will come to pick you up after work."

Asher, trying to act grown-up, responded, "Mommy, I'll keep an eye on Adora, the little troublemaker. Don't worry."

"I am not a troublemaker!" Adora huffed, crossing her arms.

She then patted her chest, promising, "Mommy, I'm almost six years old and about to graduate from kindergarten. I won't make you worry."

After giving a few more advice, Sheena left.

Marius acted as the driver.

He glanced in the rearview mirror, smiling as he watched the children play in the back seat.

"Adora," Gabrielle teased, "I heard you've been bullying boys in kindergarten. When did you become so bossy?"

Adora was quick to defend herself, hands on her hips.

"Auntie Gabrielle, who told you that? I didn't bully anyone. I just stood up for other kids when the boys were being mean! Mommy and Daddy said that after I graduate from kindergarten, Asher and I will go to elementary school together. Then, Asher can protect me, right Asher?"

Asher nodded, his serious demeanor making him seem much older than his five years.

Mavis braided Adora's hair and said, "When you two start elementary school, I'll make sure to personally take you on your first day."

"Yay!" Adora cheered.

They continued their playful chatter until they finally reached the restaurant.

Mavis held each child's hand as they walked in.
