Sheena believed that even if Mavis faced a major crisis, her personality would keep her from fighting back.
If necessary, Sheena would step in to offer some help to her kids' beloved godmother.
…
Mavis returned to the Nicholls residence to find Mildred already waiting for her.
When she walked in, Mildred stood up, visibly emotional.
Mavis quickly went to her side and asked Gabrielle, "What's going on with Grandma?"
Gabrielle hesitated before speaking. "It's about Nate. Grandma feels he's been unfair to you, and she thinks the whole family has wronged you. Mae, I owe you an apology. I always thought Nate was the most reliable person in the family, but now I see he's been quite unreasonable."
Mildred also expressed her feelings. "Mae, I really like you and know you're a sensible and obedient child. You're so much better than that Kristen, but it seems she has bewitched Nathaniel completely. It's really unfair to you. I can't control him, but I'll support you if you want to leave the Nicholls family."
Mavis was stunned.
She looked at Mildred's kind face, and the tears she had held back started to flow.
All the pain she had bottled up spilled out at once.
Seeing her so upset, Gabrielle quietly wiped her own tears.
Mildred, heartbroken, pulled Mavis into a tight hug.
"Don't cry, my dear. Even if you leave the Nicholls family, remember to come back and visit me. I'll miss you. Whatever you decide, I'll support you."
The recent events shattered Mavis's heart, yet she could not bear the thought of leaving such a wonderful grandmother and sister-in-law.
If she really left, how disappointed would Mildred be?
She smiled and stood up. "Grandma, I don't have any plans to leave right now. Don't worry."
That evening, Nathaniel came home late as usual and skipped dinner at the house.

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
