Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson) novel Chapter 1963

Ella's curiosity was burning, but she was also concerned about Mavis's situation.

With Mavis leaving home, getting involved with another man, and even getting pregnant…

Men, especially someone like Nathaniel, had their pride, and if he lost his temper, it could spell trouble for Mavis.

As soon as Nathaniel's figure disappeared down the corridor, Ella knocked on Mavis's door.

Thinking it was Nathaniel being stubborn, Mavis yelled out in frustration, "Can't you just leave me alone?"

Ella called softly from outside, "Mae, it's me, Ella."

The door soon opened, and Mavis looked apologetic.

"I'm sorry, I didn't realize it was you."

Ella gave a resigned smile. "Can I come in?"

Mavis guided her inside, locked the door behind them, and they both sat down.

Mavis slumped onto the sofa, lost in thought.

Ella noticed Mavis's mood and poured a glass of water for her.

"My mom always reminded me that ladies should watch out for our moods when pregnant. Mae, you shouldn't get angry or stressed. It's not good for you or the baby," Ella said.

The risk of prenatal depression was a serious concern.

Mavis nodded. "I understand. I'll try to stay in a better mood."

Ella shook her head, sighing. "If you're angry, take it out on the men, not yourself."

Mavis chuckled. "Alright."

Recalling the conversation she overheard, Ella asked directly, "Mae, I'm sorry, but I accidentally overheard your conversation with Mr. Nicholls. I also heard you mention… you and Emmett…"

Ella trailed off, her face growing slightly uncomfortable.

She made a gesture with her hands.
