It was already nighttime when Nathaniel arrived at the hospital.

Though the weather was calm, the atmosphere was as heavy and stifling as the night Mavis went into labor.

There was no sign of Mavis in the corridor outside the delivery room, and Nathaniel stood there, trembling with shock more than sorrow.

Soon, he heard footsteps approaching from behind, and when he turned, he saw Sheena, Elliot, and Ella walking toward him.

Sheena's expression was icy and terrifying.

Before she even got close, she raised her hand as if to hit him.

Elliot stopped her just in time, saying, "Nana, don't hurt your hand. I'll handle this."

As he neared Nathaniel, he swung his fist, delivering a heavy blow to Nathaniel's face.

Nathaniel did not avoid it, taking the anger from Elliot head-on and staggering back a few steps.

Before he could steady himself, another punch landed on the other side of his face.

Nathaniel grunted and fell to the ground, wiping a trickle of blood from his mouth.

"Mr. Nicholls!"

Troy was alarmed and tried to help, but Elliot shot him a harsh glare.

"Don't help him. Let him get up on his own."

Troy retracted his hand in silence.

Nathaniel swallowed the metallic taste of blood and slowly got to his feet.

Elliot grabbed him by the collar and slammed him against the corridor wall.

Then, he said coldly and calmly, "You're finally back? Your wife was in labor, and you went off looking for someone else. Do you even know what you're doing?"

With a trembling voice, Nathaniel asked, "Where is she?"

Elliot was momentarily at a loss for words.

Ella could no longer hold back and burst into tears.

"Nathaniel, keep her name out of your damned mouth! When she needed you the most, where were you? You went off to find another woman! Do you even have a conscience?"
