Nathaniel's voice trembled with sorrow as he kept shaking his head, insisting, "I don't believe it! I need to see her!"
Ella tried to mask her own panic, afraid that Nathaniel might notice her distress.
Sheena and Elliot exchanged a glance.
Sheena changed the subject and said, "You always thought the baby in Mae's belly wasn't yours, and you threatened her, Nathaniel. All you had to do was ask the doctor for her pregnancy records, and you would've known when she conceived. Nathaniel, that's your child too. He looks just like you. He's in the room. Go see for yourself."
In complete disbelief, Nathaniel turned around and immediately ran over.
Mavis was not in her bed. Next to it, a small crib held a baby who was no more than a few days old, sleeping peacefully with closed eyes.
Was this the child he had with Mavis?
Nathaniel dropped to his knees by the crib, staring at the baby's serene face.
The sight broke him entirely.
Mavis had always valued the baby above everything else, and she would never have abandoned the child unless something fatal had happened.
Tears streamed uncontrollably down his face.
The pain was overwhelming, nearly indescribable.
The guilt was simply overwhelming, making it impossible for him to think clearly.
"I'm sorry… I'm so sorry… I'm so sorry…" Nathaniel repeated, his voice breaking.
The helpless feeling of losing someone was unbearable.
He had never been so out of control, so shattered.
These past few months, he had made too many ridiculous mistakes.
Sheena and Elliot stood silently at the door, exchanged a final sigh, and quietly left the room.
Ella followed closely behind.
For a moment, the room was filled only with an air of utter despair.

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
