Nathaniel forced a bitter smile. "Even before she died, she was still saying how much she regretted knowing me. She hated me deeply."
Troy did not know how to respond to that.
"Mr. Nicholls, the baby is still so young. You need to pull yourself together," Troy urged.
Even if Nathaniel was not doing this for himself, he should think about the baby.
Nathaniel continued to stare blankly at the medical records, lost in thought, not hearing Troy's words.
After a while, he finally asked out of desperation, grasping at straws, "Do you think it's possible these records could be fake?"
Troy shook his head. "It's unlikely. These records were pulled from the hospital's internal network. They are archived from the day of the incident and are very detailed. There's no reason to doubt their authenticity."
Nathaniel sighed, shaking his head. "Elliot can create believable fake records."
Troy countered, "But Mr. Nicholls, this isn't Froania. It's Deltsburg. Mr. Jenkins may be influential, but he can't extend his reach here."
Nathaniel's eyes dimmed as if the last glimmer of hope had been extinguished.
He whispered hoarsely, "It's Deltsburg, not Froania…"
Troy noticed his despair and sighed repeatedly.
He knew he could do nothing, so he quietly left the room.
…
When Sheena returned, she informed Gabrielle and Mildred about Mavis' delivery.
Mildred's joyful laughter was so infectious even through the call.
However, her joy was short-lived as Sheena quickly followed up with the devastating news about Mavis.
Mildred took a while to process the shock, her voice trembling as she asked, "Is Mae… really gone?"
Even though Sheena felt bad, she could only muster the strength to say, "Yes, she had severe bleeding that night in the delivery room and couldn't make it. Her urn is with Nathaniel."

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
