"Callum, hold on a moment. I need to take this call."
It was Tommy calling, and the timing suggested it was something important.
Once the call connected, Tommy reported urgently, "Mr. Nicholls, our project with Rhousia International has fallen through."
Nathaniel frowned. "What happened?"
"I'm not sure of the details. We were supposed to sign the contract today, but they suddenly backed out. They said our company lacks business ethics and will no longer work with us. Also, there's been a problem with the construction project in South Carra. There was a fatal accident on site, and now the workers are causing a fuss. The situation is chaotic…"
Tommy continued to explain over the phone.
Callum stood beside Nathaniel, watching him with wide, eager eyes.
He wanted to ride the carousel so badly, and he hoped Nathaniel's call would end soon so they could get the tickets!
The call lasted two minutes and was filled with terms and issues Callum could not understand.
When the call ended, Nathaniel crouched down and put a hand on Callum's shoulder.
"I'm really sorry, Callum. Something urgent came up at work, and I won't be able to spend the day with you. We'll have to come back another time."
Callum's excitement was instantly ruined.
"But Daddy… you promised…"
Nathaniel tried to offer an alternative. "I know. Today is still your day off. I can have the driver or a bodyguard stay with you. You can eat whatever you want but don't overdo it. Be careful not to upset your stomach."
Callum lowered his head sadly, having lost all interest.
Having a driver or bodyguard was not the same as having his own father around.
It felt like just having someone watch over him.
He only wanted to spend time with Nathaniel.
Nathaniel felt guilty and ruffled Callum's short hair.
"It's really important. I need you to be a little understanding, okay?"

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
