In the darkness, Callum felt as if his body was falling, endlessly falling…
The sensation of weightlessness drove him to scream uncontrollably, repeatedly calling out for his father to save him.
However, all he could hear was Nathaniel's indifferent voice.
"I choose Asher. Let him go. I can always remarry and have another son, but there's only one Asher."
For the first time, Callum experienced pain in his chest so severe that it was almost suffocating, and tears started to stream down his cheeks.
Nathaniel's voice told a mix of lies and truths, and Callum could not differentiate them.
The sensation of falling seemed to last forever, and he felt as if he had plunged into water, causing a big splash.
When he opened his eyes, he was drowning in a sea of red.
The suffocating, painful feeling in his chest was almost unbearable as if his heart was about to explode.
Snippets of Nathaniel's deep voice still echoed in his ears.
"When Asher was your age, he could solve middle school math problems. You can't even get 80% of elementary ones correct."
"Half a month, and this is the result? Your tempo is all wrong. It's supposed to be a march, not a stroll."
"Callum, if you were even half as smart and dedicated as Asher, I wouldn't have to monitor your homework every day."
"I choose Asher…"
The scene was dim and hopeless, and Callum was utterly broken.
Suddenly, a ray of sunlight pierced through, so blinding that he could barely open his eyes.
Gradually, his mind began to clear.
His long lashes fluttered slightly, still damp with tears.
Then, his deep blue eyes started to focus, and the lingering panic of the nightmare could be seen on his beautiful face.
"Callum, you're finally awake. Are you feeling okay? Are you hungry? Is there anything you'd like to eat?"

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
