Callum waited anxiously for the weekend to pass.
He had never felt time drag on so slowly, but finally, Monday arrived.
During lunchtime at kindergarten, Mavis would usually visit him.
Callum was determined to leave with Mavis, not wanting Nathaniel anymore!
When Mavis showed up, Callum ran straight into her arms, crying his heart out.
His sudden outburst took Mavis by surprise.
She quickly began stroking his head, trying to comfort him.
"What happened? Did something upset you today?"
"Daddy doesn't want me anymore! Please take me away!"
Mavis was taken aback. "Why would he…"
"Why wouldn't he? Tiffany is Daddy's ex-girlfriend. They've been together every day recently. I don't have a place in his heart anymore."
His voice broke as he continued, "She's really strong and mean. If she becomes my stepmom, she'll definitely hurt me. Daddy won't protect me, and I'll be all alone. Don't you feel bad for me, Mommy?"
Tiffany?
Mavis froze.
Nathaniel had never mentioned this woman to her.
Ex-girlfriend?
Was it someone he met before her?
When Mavis did not respond immediately, Callum looked at her with teary eyes and asked, "Do you not want me either?"
Mavis snapped out of her thoughts, her heart melting at the sight of him.
"Of course I want you, Callum. I dream about us living together."
"Then take me away now, Mommy! We can go somewhere Daddy can't find us." Callum huffed, determined to frustrate Nathaniel.
Mavis gently ruffled his hair. "Let me think about it."
She had been wondering how she could get Callum away from Nathaniel.
Since Callum was eager to go with her, there was no reason to say no.
However, she needed a solid plan to avoid detection by the Nicholls family's bodyguards and the surveillance.

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
