While waiting for the investigation results, the surveillance room was quiet enough to hear a pin drop.
Everyone felt the oppressive tension emanating from Elliot, making them too scared to speak.
Elliot's cold gaze was fixed on the surveillance screens.
Lance noted that the time Sheena's phone was detected matched the exact time the black sedan was stopped in the blind spot.
Such coincidences would not happen by chance.
The car had left before they decided to head to Shrewmont Passageway, and Elliot could only watch helplessly as it vanished from the surveillance footage, potentially carrying Sheena.
"Mr. Jenkins, Captain Petros, Captain Lance, we have a new lead!"
An officer in a raincoat rushed in, quickly removing the wet garment and handing Elliot a carefully kept evidence bag.
"Mr. Jenkins, we found this while checking the highway's blind spots. It's a phone, left in a noticeable spot by the roadside. We thought it might be useful."
Elliot frowned as he took the phone.
It was intact, and the case was Sheena's favorite.
"Mr. Jenkins, this is Mrs. Jenkins's phone!" Lance exclaimed.
Elliot silently turned on the screen, finding it had been wiped clean and set to airplane mode, which explained why his calls had not gone through.
In the phone's notes app, there was a single message:
[Elliot, it seems your beloved wife is indeed your Achilles' heel!]
The taunting and threatening message was chilling.
Lance gasped.
"Mr. Jenkins, Mrs. Jenkins is really in their hands!"
Elliot stared at the message for a long time, his gaze burning with anger as he emitted a terrifying aura.
His grip on the phone was so hard that his hand trembled, and his veins bulged.
Petros stood silently until his tablet beeped with new information.
He checked it, his expression grim as he hesitated before reporting to Elliot, "Mr. Jenkins, we have the results on that car. The license plate was a fake, and all the information is bogus."
Elliot's chest burned with rage as he clenched his fists and gave his orders in a chilling tone, "Keep digging. Pull up surveillance footage from all over the city. I need to know exactly where that car went."

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
