Diana and her clique approached Mavis, making snide comments.
Mavis was not about to let their words get to her.
The more they wanted to see her fail, the more determined she was to succeed.
"Thanks for your encouragement. I'll do my best."
With that, Mavis walked away, ignoring the mocking behind her.
Back at her desk, Mavis began researching examples of logistics management plans online.
Before she knew it, the sky outside had darkened.
The rest of the department had left for the day, but her desk light was still on.
Her notebook was filled with pages of notes, and her computer screen displayed various documents related to her task.
Mavis was so engrossed in her work that she lost track of time and her surroundings.
Meanwhile, Nathaniel finished his work and stepped out of his office.
Tommy was waiting at the door, holding a stack of documents.
"Mr. Nicholls, do you still need these files? They're about the aquarium renovation."
Nathaniel was exhausted from the day's work and felt a headache coming on.
The last thing he wanted was to review more documents, and his expression made that clear.
Sensing his mood, Tommy quickly put the files away and said, "Mr. Nicholls, I noticed Mrs. Nicholls is still at her desk. Should we check on her?"
"Is she working overtime?"
Tommy shook his head and replied, "I'm not sure. It seems Ms. Hayward gave her a new task. Should we check on her?"
Nathaniel glanced at him, and Tommy immediately understood.
He rushed to the elevator, pressed the button for the fifteenth floor, and stepped out, holding the door open respectfully for Nathaniel.

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
