"Mae, don't worry about us, and take care of yourself. If Nathaniel upsets you again, just let me know. Things are different now. You're pregnant, after all," Sheena said.
There was a moment of silence on the other end.
Then, Mavis responded cheerfully, clearly happy.
Meanwhile, Elliot overheard everything but said nothing.
Sheena continued bustling about, gesturing for Elliot to fetch some files from the study.
Elliot lounged lazily on the couch and retorted playfully, "Nana, go get them yourself. You were so busy chatting when I walked in that you didn't even notice me. Now, you want me to help you?"
Sheena shot him a glare, wondering why he was suddenly so petty.
Sometimes he was just impossible.
Not in the mood to argue with Elliot, Sheena fetched the files from the study herself.
Elliot took advantage of her brief absence and suddenly spoke up on the phone.
"Mavis, I went to the Nicholls residence a few days ago."
Mavis paused, her voice uneasy.
"Did something happen to Nathaniel?"
"He's not seriously hurt, just a bit injured from an attack."
"H-How did this…"
Before Mavis could finish, Elliot interrupted her, "You're not with him right now?"
She quickly responded, "I-I'm not at the Nicholls residence. I'm out for a walk. I needed… some time alone."
"Mavis, you might fool Nana, but you can't fool me. What's going on between you and Nathaniel?"
The line fell silent.
Just as Elliot was about to speak, Sheena emerged with a smile and asked, "What are you two talking about?"
Elliot chuckled and smoothly replied, "Just discussing your recent routine."
"My recent routine?" Sheena asked, puzzled.
"Yes. You've been working so hard lately and have lost a bit of weight. It makes me worried."
Sheena touched her cheek, wondering if she had actually lost weight.

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
