"Got it." Tommy hesitated before asking, "So, if this really is just a marital argument, and Mrs. Nicholls is acting out of frustration, does that mean you don't actually intend to go through with the divorce?"

Nathaniel shot him an icy glare, offering no response.

Instead, he ordered, "Tell everyone at the Nicholls Group to stay quiet. No one is to discuss this matter during work hours. Everything else continues as normal."

Nathaniel stared out the window at the city lights glittering against the fully darkened sky.

Since Callum was not around, he decided to light a cigarette to ease his frustration.

After a few moments, he continued, "Call Tiffany. Tell her she has twenty minutes to get here. If she's late, I'll make sure the Sullivan Group pays for it."

Tommy was taken aback.

Out of breath from hurrying, Tiffany finally reached the office and flopped into one of the guest chairs.

She tried to smooth her hair, flashing a smile. "I didn't expect you to be so eager to see me, Nate. As soon as I got the call, I rushed over. I didn't want to keep you waiting. How did I do?"

Nathaniel said nothing, taking a slow drag of his cigarette.

The smoke curled up around his face, but the anger in his eyes was unmistakable.

"Was the press conference, the way the media was steered, and the rumors about me and you all your idea?"

Even though it was phrased as a question, his tone made it clear he already knew the answer.
