Tiffany never expected Nathaniel to lash out at her.
Besides, this was obviously more than just an argument between married couples.
"Nate, Mavis has dragged this whole thing into the media, and you still think it's just a marital spat?"
Nathaniel stubbed out his cigarette, his expression cold as ever.
"When my wife misbehaves, I'll deal with her. It's none of your concern."
Tiffany was baffled.
"Why are you protecting her? Is it just because she's Callum's mother? When we get married, I could give you children too, you know?"
Nathaniel laughed.
"Do you even know who you're talking to? After that stunt you pulled with Callum at the Nicholls residence, I made it very clear to you. Do you need me to repeat myself?"
His words dripped with cold disdain, making Tiffany shudder.
Of course, she remembered.
Nathaniel had thrown her out of his car halfway through the drive to the hospital, warning her to stay away from Callum and to never even dream of being his wife.
He said it would never happen.
Yet, Tiffany could not accept that.
She could not accept failing at getting what she wanted.
"I refuse to believe you have no feelings for me. Maybe we didn't have a real relationship, but we've been through a lot together. Don't forget, I helped you with that whole mess with Declan."
Nathaniel scoffed. "Unbelievable. Yes, you did help, and afterward, I sent the Sullivan Group several contracts worth eight figures, which helped your company out of a financial crisis. And now you want to use that favor to guilt-trip me?"
Tiffany was at a loss for words.
She had only helped him once, and it was not enough to threaten Nathaniel.
She still had no say in front of him.
However, she wanted more than just those contracts.
She leaned against the edge of his desk, putting on a sweet smile.

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
